Sober Living
Sivana Rehab welcomes you to learn about our sober living home programme; a place to continue healing while learning life skills for long-term sobriety.
Our sober living rehab has been designed primarily to provide a supportive bridge linking structured treatment with the autonomy of independent living. This environment is tailored to the needs of individuals ready to transition to the next stages of their recovery journey.
Sober living homes provide community support and guidance while patients develop resilience, independence, and growth to build up their confidence as they move towards a more fulfilling life beyond addiction.
What is Sober Living?
Recovery from alcohol or drug addiction is an ongoing process, and some people need additional time to find confidence and independence to help them move back into society and adapt to a different lifestyle free from drugs.
At Sivana Rehab, we prioritise personalised care and support. Our sober living home has only two private en-suite bedrooms, which promotes a calm and serene environment and a place where patients can combine deeper connections with their peers and a sense of belonging. Developing genuine relationships and mutual support cultivates trust, camaraderie, and accountability, all of which enhance well-being and success in finding independence.
How Do Sober Living Homes Work?
Here at Sivana Rehab, our sober living programme is offered as an initiative to help individuals who have already transitioned from intensive treatment for alcohol and other drug substances but may need more time to adapt to an autonomous lifestyle.
Our focus is on sobriety, personal responsibility, commitment, and learning life skills. This structured approach is managed with the same standards as our other services and receives our utmost dedication and professionalism.
Sober homes provide a programme for when an individual feels ready to take that pivotal step on their path to recovery and broaden their context of daily living and responsibilities.
Residents Take Active Participation
One of the core requirements of our sober living programme is that the patient is fully engaged in active participation in their personalised care and support. This means attending multifaceted sessions, whether involved in community activities or group meetings, and adhering at all times to the programme’s guidelines and schedules.
This participation, in addition to helping an individual grow, is crucial in developing a sense of community and building mutual support among other residents.
Weekly Counselling Sessions
Although the objective is to develop independence and personal responsibility, the programme also concentrates on individual support. Individuals will receive weekly counselling with separate one-on-one sessions with a counsellor and a recovery coach. This individual counselling is tailored to suit the person’s unique challenges, goals, and achievements. It serves as a measure of personal development while allowing any adjustment to the recovery programme if needed and provides continued support for the client as they move on.
Management and Structure of Our Programme
At Sivana Rehab, our sober living programme is managed by our vigilant and experienced staff and is characterised by our supportive yet independent environment to ensure a client receives a balanced transition to recovery. The balance of support and independence is core to the objective of our programme.
Our team oversees the smooth operation of our programme and provides support and guidance as the individual progresses, allowing the transition to be as seamless and effective as possible.
Promoting Independence and Personal Responsibility
One of the main features that distinguishes our sober living programme from others is that, unlike most recovery programmes, we do not include or provide meals for our clients. This is for a specific reason and has a clear, functional purpose: to encourage individuals to commit to personal responsibility.
Allowing clients to plan and prepare their meals is a task and responsibility in daily life, and it helps them confront tasks and challenges. The purpose here is to put individuals into real-world scenarios and teach them how to deal with them effectively. The skills they learn will help build their confidence and independence to maintain long-term sobriety.
How to Apply for Sober Living
Applicants must meet specific criteria to access and qualify for the Sivana Rehab sober living programme. This ensures that the client is at the right stage of their recovery journey and ready for this type of counselling and environment.
Eligibility is open to individuals who are either currently undergoing primary treatment at Sivana Rehab or those who have successfully completed it and remained sober.
By applying this approach, we are assured that participants are sufficiently grounded in recovering after engaging or completing treatment under our care and are committed to continuing sobriety. We recognise this foundation as an essential factor for becoming more independent while receiving ongoing support and guidance.
